The sexual wellness market and its retail landscape is rapidly changing, and these new developments motivated us to take the next step to maintain our position in the market. To guarantee a healthy future for EDC, parent company of EDC Wholesale, within the industry and to realize our growth ambitions, we have decided to enter into a ‘strategic partnership’ with Eropartner Distribution from Zwaagdijk, in the Netherlands.
 
In this new set-up, EDC and Eropartner Distribution will jointly become part of the EQOM Group, an umbrella formula specially established to enter into strategic partnerships such as this one. EDC will continue to operate from Veendam and Eropartner Distribution will continue to operate under its own name from their location in Zwaagdijk with the current staffing.
 
An important consequence of the collaboration is that we can merge the assortment of Eropartner with our assortment and visa vera and purchase centrally, to secure the best pricing. With this strategic partnership we want to take the industry of sexual wellness to a higher level.
 
By joining forces, we want to further increase our effectiveness in Europe. The aim is to ensure that every European has a sex toy in the bedside table. The demand for erotic products is growing strongly, partly thanks to the growing group of millennials as customers’ acceptance is increasing more and more.
 
We are able to expand our assortment with new products and share our knowledge. In this way we can complement and strengthen each other.

Eric Idema, CEO and founder of EDC, will take the position of Chairman of the board of the EQOM Group and Wouter Iwema will be appointed as EQOM CFO. Together with the current management of Eropartner Distribution, we will ensure efficient cooperation and integration within the EQOM Group.
